The Winery was built in a 120 ha wine growing area and consists of three buildings: the Winery, dating from the 19th century which now houses a restaurant, a new building for processing and fermenting the grapes, as well as a utility building. The latter serves to store equipment and machinery used in the vineyards. Apart from this there are also various facilities for the workers of the winery.

The form of the new winery is inspired from the traditional form of the local wine cellars. The utility building is situated like an artificial hill within the volcanic landscape and has the form of a crater, reminiscent of the nearby quarries. This impression is reinforced through the use of natural building materials: dark grey slate and roughly hewn natural stone for the walls.
