The residence forms an integral part of the village of Mormont. It is a roof among other roofs, integrated into the structure of the village.

The building utilized local materials, creating nuances of colour that place it quite naturally into the surrounding landscape.

The substructure was built in raw stone, the slender rafters of the interior consist of  laminated timber. The masonry substructure forms a ring around the central main space: the living heart of the house. This room opens out to the east and offers a beautiful view of the forested Ardennes. Around the main space are grouped vaulted rooms of differing sizes.

The house has become a family project. Since 1989 it has been for us a large workshop for craftsmanship and experimentation. The natural stone walls, the curved rafters and the tiles, we have shaped everything with our own hands and with great dedication.
