The construction of the Rudolf Steiner Seminar was to take place in stages while at the same time keeping pace with the increasing activities of the Seminar. We were searching the local area for suitable properties - properties which were situated in a landscape that featured small rocky outcrops. Just like the landscape, the buildings were to have a stretched out form with fitting silhouettes.

We selected simple, local materials such as timber for the roof construction, fired brick for the basements and metal for roof cladding, while at the same time deciding not to use a traditional colour scheme for our buildings. Every building was to receive its individual character and carry the stamp of its designated purpose.

Common motifs were to connect the different types of buildings with each other. Walking over the Seminar grounds it should be possible to follow a process by which different ideas are being repeated from one building to the next, but always in a new form and adapted to a new situation.
